About CodexSkins
Who runs this
CodexSkins is run by one independent developer who spends most of the day inside coding agents and got tired of staring at the same grey panels. The site itself is built the way its subject suggests: with heavy help from AI coding agents, then reviewed, corrected and curated by a human. We think that's worth being upfront about — half the fun of this project is that the tools it catalogs helped build it.
Editorial rules
- Every classic palette keeps its upstream license and gets a visible credit and source link on its page. We port colors; we don't claim them.
- Wallpaper skins are original commissions made for this site. No celebrities, no film/game/anime franchise art — if a skin ever needs a rights conversation, it doesn't ship.
- Everything installable is labeled on a trust ladder (token theme / config edit / injection engine) so you always know what a look actually touches.
- Install prompts are written to keep your agent inside appearance settings and to report every change it makes.
What this site is (and isn't)
A free catalog of themes and skins for AI coding agents — the OpenAI Codex desktop app and Claude Code today, more surfaces as they earn it. It is a community project: not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI or Anthropic. Codex® and Claude® are trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to say what fits what.
Launched July 2026.
