How it works

01

Pick a look

Every card is a live render of the real tokens — browse by trending, dark or light.

02

Copy the install prompt

One button per theme. The prompt tells your agent to restyle itself, safely, in its own settings.

03

Paste into your agent

Codex or Claude Code applies the palette and reports back what changed. Revert anytime.

Questions, answered

? What are Codex app themes?

Color themes change the appearance of the OpenAI Codex desktop app — background, sidebar, accent and syntax colors. Codex supports picking and importing themes from its appearance settings; every theme here shows a live preview of exactly what you'll get.

? Do these themes work with Claude Code?

Yes. Every palette on CodexSkins has a Claude Code page. Claude Code v2.1.118+ supports custom themes via the /theme command, and older versions can match the look through your terminal's ANSI palette.

? How do I install a theme?

The fastest way: copy the install prompt on any theme page and paste it into your agent — it applies the palette through its own appearance settings and reports back what changed. Manual steps are listed on each page too.

? Are the previews screenshots?

No — every preview on this site is rendered live from the theme's color tokens, so previews are always crisp, always current, and exactly match the values you install.

? Is this safe? Does it touch my code or API keys?

Color themes only change appearance settings — no code execution, no network access, no API keys involved. The install prompts we generate explicitly restrict the agent to appearance settings and ask it to report every change.

? Is CodexSkins affiliated with OpenAI or Anthropic?

No. CodexSkins is an independent community project. Codex and Claude are trademarks of their respective owners; palette colors are credited to their upstream open-source projects on every page.
