Notes on this palette
Ember Shift is one of our house originals, designed for this catalog rather than ported from an editor, and it starts from a blunt observation: agent sessions run longer than coding sessions. The base is a true near-black #101012, the text a warm off-white instead of blue-white, and the single ember-orange accent is reserved for the things you actually hunt for while scrolling — your own prompts, the cursor, the active control.
The warm bias is the whole design. Cool near-blacks read 'technical' but drift toward harsh over hours; shifting text and accents a few degrees toward amber keeps the same contrast while feeling closer to lamplight. Diff green and error red are both slightly desaturated so an eight-hour run doesn't accumulate alarm fatigue — failures still register, they just don't sting.
Use it as the default it was built to be: a dark room, an evening, a long task you intend to finish. If you want the same temperature with more theater, the Ember Forge skin was drawn to sit behind exactly this palette — the same #ff9e3d ember carried into the artwork, sparks included. Like most very dark bases, it also favors slightly heavier font weights over thin ones.
