Notes on this palette
Ayu's whole pitch is subtraction. Created by dempfi with three variants — Dark, Mirage and Light — it strips the frame down to a near-black #0a0e14 and lets one gold accent do the talking. Where most dark themes build atmosphere, Ayu builds absence: the background is dark enough to disappear on an OLED panel, and the syntax colors are warm, high-clarity picks that occupy about as little of your attention as syntax coloring can.
On the right hardware the effect is plain and a little addictive. An agent window in Ayu Dark on an OLED screen is mostly true black with lines of amber and lime floating in it; session structure comes from spacing, not panel tints. The near-black base also makes it the best option here for two specific situations: battery-conscious laptop work, and rooms that are fully dark — no gray haze, no glow spilling onto the bezel.
